Yes, definatly secure your cables to your recording device! Twice in two days my a/v cable has detached from my camcorder. It is very frustrating to think you just recorded a great run, but to later find out you did'nt.

Duck tape! ;-) I've quite a few embarrasing experiences where I chaased some local ripper down the mountain after getting the person all stoked on the helmet cam - only to have lost the footage due to a loose wire. Or, how bout the time we hiked to the summit of Mt Dana in Yosemite, 13K feet, skied all the down from the summit, down the Dana couloir, only to have lost the helmet cam footage - it was epic corn snow, chase cam ,with 2 boards behind us!

Get a large roll of QUALITY gaffers tape and go crazy.

Gaffers does not leave the sticky residue that DUCT tape leaves behind. I recommend replacing it often and don't leave it on things forever. It will start to leave resiude behind after a certain amount of time and heat.
