Raptor 700 footage shot entirely with a GoPro Motorsports HERO Wide cam, both on and off the bike. Every shot in the video was filmed with the same single helmet cam. Lots of setting up, making passes, then moving to the next location. All the filming and editing were done in 48 hours over a weekend. All the video was edited simply in iMovie on Ryan's laptop. We mounted a Motorsports HERO Wide just to the right of the rear view mirror in a Spec Miata to show you one of the best views in motorsports. Be it a race car or a street car, mounting your wide angle GoPro camera to the right of your rear view mirror with a slight left/down tilt gives you this great view down track while still showing your hands on the wheel.

We've got a lot of experience racing sports cars, open wheel cars...flogging our street cars on country roads and so on. We realized we need to get into a 125cc kart to test our GoPro cameras in what is the equivalent of strapping yourself to a paint shaker. Here we mounted a Motorsports HERO Wide camera on the mouth of our Arai GP-5K and took it for a spin. What's killer about this mounting location is that you cannot see the camera through the viewport but it gives you a front and center view of your line, your wheel, hands and shows you when you start looking into a turn. The side of the helmet at eye level is another very good mounting location if you want to see above the wheel a bit more. Notice the great sound with zero wind noise.

Since street cars don't have roll bars we include a top of the line suction cup mounting system with the Motorsports HERO Wide camera system. Top tip for GoPro customers that want throaty engine sounds with their GoPro camera mounted inside the car. Unscrew the housing lens and save it for when you need the camera to be waterproof or you need to protect the camera lens from flying rocks, etc. Inside the car you don't need it and the sound of your engine will be much louder.

GoPro recently added a Mitsubishi EVO X to it's R&D garage to further develop it's line of motorsports cameras. Here's some tarmac rally testing of the new Motorsports HERO Wide camera. The image is extremely stable even though the camera was cantilevered way out to the side with the included suction cup and extension mounts. Notice how rough the road is and yet the video stability is still uber stable.

We rocked out to Loretta Lynn's to test our new Motorsports HERO Wide camera on some rippers at the races. This comes from our man in the field who edited the video down with poor compression and he chopped off the top and bottom of the video during editing...so we're not seeing the full wide top/bottom view...but still a good test of what's coming end of August. Rock and roll...
